The Cathedral of the Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church is an Orthodox cathedral in honor of the New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church, which took 100 years to build. The construction of the cathedral, built in the Russian-Byzantine style, designed by the architect L.V. Makarevich, was completed in November 2017. The cathedral was consecrated by Metropolitan Pavel of Minsk and Zaslavl. In 1907, the architect of the Grodno Diocesan Administration developed a project for a new church. In the same year, the building committee at the Holy Synod approved the project. The purchase of materials began, the foundation was laid. But construction was interrupted by the First World War. In 1935, a new project of the temple was developed. With the outbreak of World War II, construction was again postponed. In 1993, architect 3L. V. Makarevich developed the author's project of the cathedral. Construction began in 1994. On November 25, 2017, the cathedral was consecrated by Metropolitan Pavel of Minsk and Zaslavl. In the cathedral there is an icon with a particle of the relics of St. Ambrose of Optina. Also in the cathedral is Golgotha, which streamed myrrh in 1998.
